By doing a wavelet analysis, you can isolate distinct ripple shapes in a signal. For instance, if you are measuring sound from a flame and you know that a certain ripple pattern means the flame is going to be unstable, you can use a wavelet transform to tell you when that ripple occurs. The transform will tell you how well your signal matches the ripple over a specified time frame.

a wavelet is a little water wave, one smaller than its brother or sister wave.

It has a tiny white frll on tis edge, so not the lapping type just rolling around toward the beach.

What does it mean-that's a difficult question, cause I only know it to be a baby wave.
