i saw jeremy clarkson on the telly once riding a bicycle fitted with a small jet engine that was hardly larger than your keyboard, only cylindrical and with two fans.. i think it was a small mock up of an actual jet engine, i want to build a similar one.. any help?

I dont think you could physically make an actual jet engine that size-there are constrictions on the speed and fuel at that size. You could mockup on, but it wouldnt have significant thrust- If it's thrust you are after, then you would get much better results from rockets, and they are much easier to build as well. Its exceedingly dangerous, but I assume you know that already-There are a lot of very good websites for building small rockets. When considering, be sure to calculate the maximum thrust force you want. On a bicycle, even a relatively small force can accelerate you-Do not build a rocket based upon your weight, because you arent overcoming total gravity, and you would have far too much force-I would estimate 50-100 pds would be plenty, with less than that as a test rocket.

good luck

Yes there is one type of jet engine which may be fitted. It is called a RAM jet. It hardly has any moving components. The problem with it is that for the RAM jet to be operational the air speed need to be minimum 250 mph. So you have lots of pedaling to do ahead.

You could buy a model airplne jet engine but that might not give you the amount of thrust you need.

right it is take care of to an editorial that talks about how jay leno did his, i did not bypass via the entire element, yet per chance you could piece some thing out of it. reliable success. jays bike feels like an outstanding sort of exciting
