So many books, so little time ...

I suggest you start by browsing the DE tutorials and examples which are on-line

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&biw=1144&bih=702&q=differential+equations+tutorial&aq=2&aqi=g10&aql=&oq=Differential+Equation&gs_rfai=

From the simple:

http://www.physics.ohio-state.edu/~physedu/mapletutorial/tutorials/diff_eqs/intro.html

to as far as the subject goes.

You will pretty quickly get a much clearer idea of why you are having problems, and how to improve. Good luck :)

Elementary Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems, 9th edition, by William E. Boyce, and Richard C. DiPrima.

Loved it, lived by it trough a whole semester, and got an A in the class, although the trick is in practicing the problems ... a lot.

i've got used fundamentals of Differential Equations via Saff, Nagle, and Snider, which i assumed became right into a exceedingly good text fabric, countless purposes. For Linear Algebra, I used 'Linear Algebra' via Shilov and 'Linear Algebra performed magnificent' via Axler. Shilov's e book is exceedingly stable, yet I despise Axler's approach and truthfully do no longer think of its 'performed magnificent' in any respect.
