My learners at school needs to make a small version (or similar) of jaws of life. Now obviously it don't need to cut anything the "jaws" should just move like the splitter version of jaws of life. Now my learner know how to work with hydraulics and pneumatic using syringes. In the text book they inform the learners that they may use washing pegs, syringes, plastic tubing, but they can use anything really as long as they make use of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Any ideas on how the learners can accomplish this?
If you maby have a web site with information regarding this I would really appreciate it.

I would study the design of the ones already in use and take the pattern to design your own. Take a tour at the local fire dept.

Zaphod is right, but sometimes I think the forum software just ends up putting things into the wrong category.

Start with any cutting tool. A garden shears would be pretty easy, or a "tin snips". These are both intended to cut things, and cutting off the handles to attach a hydraulic system wouldn't be too hard.
