BTU is British Thermal Unit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Btu, hence is a measure of energy. BTUH stands for BTU/Hr, and energy per unit time is a measure of power. The BTUH rating of an airconditioner (A/C) tells you how much cooling capacity the A/C can produce.
Generally, it takes an A/C with about 12,000 BTUH per 500 sq. ft. of living space to be comfortable in Southern California.:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_conditioning

A btu (british thermal unit) is an energy unit. Btu/h in air conditionioning would be a measure of the amount of heat tranferred or energy consumption (metric equivilant would be the kilowatt).

btu/h is energy over time, which is the same as power. So its the power rating of the air conditioning system more then likely

Its a Name given to a unit of heat required to raise a gram of water 1 deg C.... in ac conditioning it takes 12000 btu/h to make a ton...and thats jjust another way of naming the unit of energy...so a 3 ton unit is 36000 btu...when you become familiar with the operation of unit interchange its very easy to work with. here is a link with tons(get it) of info
I think it would because it is partly using some of the car's energy. Try going up Genting with your aircond switch on and off. Sure you can tell a different.
