There is actually in development a self-guided bullet. I don't remember what the bullet is called. But it is being tested from large caliber rifles such as the .308, .457, and the .50 where it can alternate is flight path to a great degree. Unlike convential bullets, where the farther away the target is the less accurate the bullet witll be fired from the human opperator. This bullet becomes more accurate at longer ranges.



The bullet uses a computer targeting system that is mounted onto the rifle, of which the computer locks in on the target. Becasue of this, the operator doesn't even need to look at the target. He can have their rifle pointed around 10 - 20 degrees away and the bullet will be able to adjust it's course and hit the target. So far it is being tested on stationary targets.
