I am needing a simple schematic for low volt, timer circuit. I am using the 555 timer chip, and need to run the timer to a 12v primary/120v seconday relay. I am wanting to control the timer with potentiometers prior to the 555 chip. Does anyone know of a decent simple schematic?

I used to have one, and this is much like the pre-coil side of a strobe system. Since then I have moved and lost a lot of my books and notes.

Go to http://www.national.com/mpf/LM/LMC555.html

download data sheet... open the data sheet and scroll down and you will see typical circuit examples.

Additionally look at

http://www.discovercircuits.com/T/timers4.htm

These are just two of many many... but it will get you going.
