why do they say cut a certain color....
Shouldn't it matter what the wire is connected to not its color...
Plus The bomb maker could always just remove the color from one wire and put it on the other wire...

Yes, but the wires are colored to identify which things they are connected to.

Its just for the movies the bomb maker could also make it so that any wire when cut sets it off.

It's a movie!



In real life, the wires would not be color coded, and they would not be located where you could cut them.



And, real bombs do NOT have counter displays that count down to zero. What would be the purpose of that?

You can design a circuit to close if any wire is cut. Its all in how you wire the mechanical relay.



The movies aren't real life.
