i hope that anyone who views this is a employer. because I am fed up with the crap. you want experience but have you got stuck on stupid?? probably so, how is a student that is going to college ABLE TO GET EXPERIENCE, IF NO ONE IS WILLING TO HIRE THEM!!!. ISN'T COLLEGE OR AN UNIVERSITY SUPPOSE TO PREPARE THE PERSON TO FIT AN EMPLOYERS MEANS!! YES I KNOW I LEFT THE CAPS ON,I WANT TO BE HEARD LOUD AND CLEAR. ISN'T THE NATIONAL UNEMPLOYMENT RATE HIGH ENOUGH!!! if i was an employer i would rather hire a student or graduate knowing that they possess the newest technology. not some old person who barely knows how to run a computer and these retreads are way over paid. yes i am jacked. i hope i have raised your eye brow and made you think about who are you really gonna hire today, some old person or that young person.

It is a big catch 22. The graduate cannot get a job because he doesn't have experience, but where is he going to get the job to get that experience?

Yeah, you gotta realize when employers write the job descriptions, they are writing their wild dreams of candidates they desire. A good employer will tell the truth, but the average employer writes a description of the impossible.

Also, do realize that no one is possibly the best candidate for the job. The best candidate has thirty years of experience, just graduated from college taken just for fun, and is willing to work for $10/hour. Yeah right!

Because they pay their money for your time. If you go to a shop with your money, and the shop management hope you'll pay for some old rubbish or other, then you'll probably disappoint them because you're so picky.

Please look up the meaning of 'technology'.

Look up the meaning of 'retreads', and stop passing stupid and picky judgements on "old person(s)".

You've failed, and that's by your own efforts, not due to those of an "old person" "retread".

Ok greenhorn (young rookie), slow down a bit. One reason it is hard to get a job right now is because the unemployment rate is so high, employers can afford to be picky. Look at it from an employers point of view. If it were your money, would you want a guy fresh out of college, or one with a 10 year old degree and 10 years experience. After all, a college grad from 2000 is not far behind the technology of a 2010 college grad. I am almost 40 but I am no dinosaur, I have all the latest and greatest computer knowhow too. And i also have 20 years of work experience in fact, my degree in college only took 4 years, but I trained for my current job for 5. I am a patternmaker for GM and we have a bunch of engineers in the back fresh out of college with no experience. They draw the engine block and head designs and have them built. Then it is my job to fix all the errors they built into the design because of lack of experience. In the 5 years i trained under other journeymen and master patternmakers, I aquired almost 100 years of what works and doesn't work when it comes to engine blocks and heads. Experience beats education hands down, every time. But you must have the education before you can begin getting experience. I know it is frustrating, but keep at it out there somewhere is an employer looking for new blood.

View your question and you will realize why you are not getting hired. You are loud, indignant, and disrespectful. There are millions of people out of work many of who are as, if not more qualified than you. I am one of the retreads that you have so disrespectfully made reference to. I am electromechanical designer with a degree and over 30 years of experience. Since my layoff in 2006 I have worked as a janitor at Walmart, installations for AT&T, delivery driver, GPS installer, and recently started my own business. I was recently hired by an organization doing the job I was trained to do. My salary is half of what I was making when I was laid off. I am very grateful to have been chosen for the position. You might want to rethink your present position.

When I'm out shopping for produce, I take the time to be picky in choosing the freshness and worth of what is on offer. If I see questionable or unsuitable produce, I pass it by, selecting what seems to be the best.Just because something is on the shelf does not automatically mean it is worth buying.I may already have older, but better, stuff at home.

And so it is with new hires.

Because they are jerks who are too lazy to train their employees. But its gonna bite those pigs in the butt some day

Your complaint has been noted. I understand your frustration. Did you know that I don't need technically savvy people on my staff? I need people who understand what my clients' needs are. Do you?
