Buy a DC power supply, I bet they are for sale. Contact your electrical supply house, also check out Kepco and Sola.

Your volt meter basically attracts some micro amps out of your grant instead of the rated 750 ma. the version between the low contemporary voltage and the rated contemporary is observed as the regulation and yours is worse than familiar. there is probably no basic answer different than to bear in mind which you get approximately double voltage at low load currents. if your challenge needs 3 volts or 4.5 volts at low contemporary you are able to connect diodes in sequence which includes your grant to loose approximately 0.7 volts in line with diode on any swap placing. So the 7 volt placing (which will desire to be 3 volts) will supply approximately 5.8 volts with 2 diodes in sequence with a low contemporary load or approximately 3 volts if your load needs a million/2 amp. Alternately you are able to connect a battery with somewhat much less voltage than you prefer throughout the time of your load. the excess contemporary will fee the battery, perhaps excessively, no count if it extremely is a small battery and it is connected for hours. Non-rechargeable batteries is often charged for a couple of minutes, yet longer they gets warm and leak, making a large number. Neil

how high is high?

What regulation and what ripple spec do you have?

A 1:1 transformer, followed by a full wave bridge will yield about 240 VDC, but with a lot of ripple. A large capacitor will decrease the ripple, but the DC voltage will go up to about 330 VDC.

The best way is application dependant!

It depends what it is for, what regulation is required, noise, rippleā€¦

Bluntly, you just need a rectifier and you will convert your AC to DC

Hope this properly answers your question
