how to calculate the force u need to move a heavy thing (the thing touch a surface) along the surface.?

look up stuff like static friction, and your coefficient of friction...

You can calculate the maximum frictional force using
F=uN
Where
- F is the frictional force,
- u is the "coefficient of friction", a number we use for those particular surfaces,
- N is the "Normal reaction", which is the force pressing the surfaces together (mass x gravity for example)
You can find u by transposition F/N = u
