My dad says an engineering degree is the best and no other degree comes close. Like, he looks down on people who don't get engineering degrees from Universities. He's like "yeah most college degrees are (expletive). You just have to get that engineering degree and you'll be set for a good future. That's basically the only way that you can have a good future. I mean, you can get a degree in law or medical but those jobs are way more stressful than engineering jobs". That's what he says.

Your dad says that from his own perspective. A job can be stressful if it was not in tune with the real interest and the general trend of a person.

Yeah... Define "best".

If the only people graduating from college were engineers, there would definitely be some problems. I don't know about you but I think it is pretty important to have doctors and pharmacists and English teachers and kindergarten teachers and history teachers and high school swim coaches and accountants and bankers and architects and social workers, etc etc etc.

Of course, there would be a world of hurt coming down if we didn't have plumbers and electricians and carpenters and car mechanics and machinists and chefs and police officers and emergency responders and all sorts of people who work in jobs that do not require a college degree.

The world would probably get along ok without so many professional athletes (or, would get along just fine even if they were not paid so much money) but there are a whole lot of good things that come from a good college education and from good training programs of all sorts.

Not everyone wants to be an engineer, it is an applied science degree. In the past all you needed to be all an engineer was bachelor degree, now I suggest planning to get a masters too.

Law degrees and Medical doctors are good degrees. but they are really expensive. If you can arrange to get arrested for armed robbery you can get the third degree at the police station for free but don't use my name.

In these times, the fastest growing, highest paying, most popular degrees are from either the medical field or the engineering field.

People with Law or Medical degrees might disagree. Depends on what you mean by "best".

I was best for me, but it won't be the best for everyone.
