Information can be logged and rigorous automated DAQ (Data acquisition) schemes can be implemented entirely from within the LabVIEW environment. I study electronics so I'm not the greatest source for Mechanical-based information, I can only stress that LabVIEW is a diverse, reliable and powerful program that can be used for acquiring virtually any real world signals.
