Milling. It is impossible to make a 3 dimensional corner on a lathe without special attachment tools. You can NOT construct a cube with a lathe, but you CAN with a milling machine. Something like a square bolt head takes a milling machine over a lathe which cuts the threads on the bolt. A lathe CAN be turned into a mill if you have the right tools to convert the moving parts to work on machining stationary parts. In theory, the lathe is the only machine which can be used to make the parts necessary to replicate itself... BUT, it only CAN do that because it takes on the role, the part of a mill at times... YMMV...

All the operation that lathe machine can't do. I mean lathe can do only some operations, other then that there should be thousands of other things that lathe can't do.
