AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Solid Edge and Inventor are the most used CAD software among engineers today. Anything beyond that generally applies to sub-parts of the engineering sphere and includes both commercial and proprietary CAD systems. Some of these include CMS IntelliCAD, T-FLEX, Ansys, MicroStation and Rhino 3D.
Based on the specific branch of engineering (in your case aeronautics) you will be working with CAD software specific to that industry or company. Usually, these are just customized versions of mainstream AutoDesk software.
I work with boat and ship CAD software and this includes marine mechanics packages like Sea Solution and 3D Boat Design ( http://3dboatdesign.annics.com )

The graphic interface supplied with the software continuously prompts the user to color each and every new component that is added to the style blueprint. Apart from various color variations, the software program also has color pens of diverse thickness to classify various structural elements.
