Hello, what happens is that I am studying the university and I am about to start the course of analysis of electrical circuits, and they have told me that I need previous knowledge to be able to understand and understand this subject / subject,
I am studying mechanical engineering, and another doubt is that in the field of work and in real life how I can apply the knowledge acquired from this subject
Thank you very much for answering

Ohm's Law is the fundamental basics of electronics. You should have had this in physics class. With a good understanding of Ohm's law and how current flows, this forms the basis for analyzing electronic circuits. Basic op-amp operation and basic transistor operation are also important.

As for using electronics, when you expect to be a mechanical engineer, engineering requires knowledge in many disciplines, not just ME. As an EE, I need to know how to design mechanical things, materials, chemistry, sewing, and lots of other things that aren't related to electronics.

Uni is just the start. It gives you the basics. Your real learning starts when you get a job and after 5 to 10 years you will be competent if you have a keen interest in your field.

You will need knowledge of Fourier analysis among others that I have forgotten.

Electrical fundamentals is taught with the assuption that students have no prior knowledge in electrical circuit analysis. Most students have calculus out of the way. Alternating current circuit analysis requires solutions of first and second order differential equations, so it is best to be taking this course concurrent with electrical fundamentals.

No previous knowledge of electrical circuits is required for you to understand the electrical courses that are required by the university when you are majoring in mechanical engineering. However the use of algebra will certainly be required in circuits l and maybe the use of calculus l and ll. Be sure that you have completed all math prerequisites before taking circuits l which is required of all engineering majors I think.

Do you have the required per-requisits for the class? You should get them either by taking the classes or by independent study. You may be able to acquire them by reading materials at the library. You can reduce the time to about 2 weeks If you know how to self teach from books or online. The Instructor should have a page detailing the pre-Req's for the class.
