learning labview by small experiments...?

I want to learn LabView by doing small experiments myself.
I have DAC cards,GPIB Card,Function generators and ac,dc power supplies.I'm new to Labview.Is any resources avaialble in the internet to learn LABVIEW self? Plz help.Thank you.

I've taught myself a lot about LabVIEW by using the example programs that come with it. Look under Help/Find examples... and open the vi's that are relevant to what you are trying to learn.



I disagree with your other answerer about text based programming languages being easier to use. Once you get the hang of graphical program it is easier to debug your programs. It is also easier to tunnel into your subroutines and see the data flow.

I don't think there is any resources except for NI. I have done LabviewI and II courses - they are expensive approx. £1500 per wk course. But start with setting yourself some tasks in data aquisition, i.e. reading serial ports and displaying the data on the screen. This should give you an idea of what the things do and the HELP of Labview is actually quite good - explains most of the functions and interlinks them.



I find Labview painful as it is very "electrical" rather than programming - all those wires......I prefer the "old" way of writing code.

It is an legal direction in the event you study out part with low priced believe me they wont provide well stuff so bigger you with the legal ones and opt for certifications on that
