My friend thinks a nurse that goes to school for 2 years will make more than a mechanical engineer with a bachelors degree. Who is right?

A nurse for 2 years will, with no doubt, be changing people's diapers.

An RN (registered nurse) requires 4, maybe 5, years to complete.

But do worry, Obamacare won't leave any nurse job as a good income job... Tell her not to go to school for nursing since there will be a huge pay cut they take once Obamacare takes effect.

Just ask the nurses in Germany. Some make as much as a cashier at the local grocery store.

The 2 year nursing school is usually for Nurses who end up helping the elderly. They usually go to peoples houses and work for $10-15/hour. The more experienced nurses make $20/hr.

If they go to college to study Biology and get a nursing degree, they will get to be real nurses in hospitals that get paid more.

Mechanical Engineers start out with an average salary of $24/$26 per hour, or $50,000-$56,000 per year.

If money is the only criterion, then the engineer may earn more. But in terms of putting a smile or wiping a tear off a suffering person, the engineer is no match for the nurse.
